After its debut during WUF Basel 2025, Enrico Rassu’s project "Don't Call Me Fotografo" will be presented on July 5 and 6 at the exhibition space in Via Ponte di Legno 9, Milan.

The project includes a multimedia exhibition of images and texts, performances and surprise happenings, open cyphers, an artist residency leading to a musical project, screenings and showcases of past works, and several artistic installations. The opening will take place on Saturday, July 5 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

"Don't Call Me Fotografo" is the title of Enrico Rassu’s latest project: a multimedia work composed of a short story book, a limited edition photo box, and a major exhibition event in Milan, which will also involve the No Ball Games collective — marking the occasion of its one-year anniversary.

The photo box features a curated selection of photographs taken between 2017 and 2025 in cities such as Milan, London, and New York — capturing diverse artistic scenes, urban subcultures, music, graffiti, and portraits of some of today’s most influential contemporary artists. A faithful visual testimony of youth culture, lived up close. The photo box was made possible thanks to WUF and presented as an art piece at WUF Basel 2025: Celebrating Paper.

The short story book, the result of months of conversations, reflections, and exchanges, addresses key themes such as identity, creative work, mental health, relationships, generational shifts, and the "Instagram drug". Enrico’s lived experiences become a starting point for questioning what kind of society we are today, telling the story of those simply trying to find an alternative path — one that doesn’t necessarily fit into a predefined role.

The project will culminate in a special event on July 5, 2025, at the exhibition space in Via Ponte di Legno 9, Milan, where photographs and texts from the project will be displayed. The event will also celebrate the first anniversary of No Ball Games.

"Don't Call Me Fotografo" is an artistic project that goes beyond the invitation to break the mold, as was the case with No Ball Games, this time dismantling roles, which risk boxing us in and making us believe we are only one thing.

"DON'T CALL ME FOTOGRAFO" – THE EXHIBITION

The project will be presented in an exhibition open for two days, July 5 and 6.The opening will take place on July 5 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the exhibition space in Via Ponte di Legno 9, Milan, while the exhibition will be open to the public on the following day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

"Don't Call Me Fotografo" will be a unique and immersive experience celebrating art, music, and creativity. Inside the gallery, visitors will be able to explore the photo archive alongside selected texts from the book, offering a unique glimpse into untold life moments and the urban and artistic scenes captured and narrated.

Throughout the exhibition, there will be a series of performances and surprise happenings, coinciding with the first anniversary of No Ball Games. As per tradition, the second day of the event will feature an open mixtape session inside the gallery, inviting singers, musicians, and enthusiasts, recorded together with Lvnar.

BIOGRAPHY

Enrico Rassu is an artist and creative born in Sassari, Sardinia. His journey began with a camera — a tool he uses to explore and narrate the lives of others. Deeply connected to the Italian and international music scenes, Enrico has photographed many key figures from both the old and new school, including Sfera Ebbasta, Club Dogo, Marracash, Madame, Nerissima Serpe, Ernia, and Fabri Fibra — without ever limiting himself to Italy.

In 2018, he followed Majid Jordan on their European tour and came into contact with Ovo Sound — the label founded by Drake — which allowed him to follow the Canadian rapper in Paris and document Roy Woods’ trip to Italy. Abroad, he also collaborated with IAMDDB, Lous and the Yakuza, and ASAP TyY, working with brands and partners such as Fujifilm, adidas, A-COLD-WALL, Off-White, Zegna, Levi’s, Apple Music, C.P. Company, and Diadora.

After a period living in London, Enrico returned to Italy to launch a series of artistic projects that moved beyond photography — transforming it into what it had always been for him: a means to unite.

In 2022, he created the exhibition "Marseille, Safe and Sound" in collaboration with C.P. Company, documenting the brand’s presence in the streets of Marseille and how it connects diverse social, political, cultural, and ethnic groups.

Between 2023 and 2024, he completed an art project on mental health titled "Rosa’s Pills", shooting a documentary in New York and presenting two exhibitions in Rome and Trento with the support of Angelini Pharma.

While carrying out various projects, Enrico completed his first book covering two formative years of his life, giving birth to the project "No Ball Games", which is not a title but a movement — present in every event Enrico creates.

In just one year, No Ball Games was involved in multiple projects, including music festivals and collaborations with brands like adidas, which commissioned the collective to create the campaign and launch event for the new Superstar line.
