ANDREAS GYSIN

Andreas Gysin, born in 1975 in Zurich and based in Lugano, Switzerland, merges the disciplines of art and technology through his innovative kinetic and interactive installations. Beginning his journey in 2007 with a custom-built split-flap display, Gysin's work has since then evolved to reimagine informational elements in kinetic and static forms, leading to new interpretations of their original functions. His notable collaboration with Sidi Vanetti, under the duo Gysin-Vanetti, has been recognized for its significant contributions to the digital art landscape, including their listing among “Collection Cahiers d’Artistes” by Pro Helvetia in 2013. Alongside his artistic practice, Gysin contributes to the next generation of designers by teaching interaction design and programming at ECAL, Lausanne, and SUPSI, Lugano.
